What is health insurance? It is a form of social protection of the interests of the population in the health sector. The subject of health insurance is the insurance risk related to the financing and provision of health care for the insured event (disease, poisoning, etc.). Health insurance is carried out in two forms: mandatory and voluntary. As subjects of health insurance are: a citizen, the insured, health insurance organization - the insurer and medical facility. The need for the introduction of health insurance and the establishment of the budget and the health insurance system is dictated by a number of objective factors: deterioration in the public health, economic difficulties in the health care and public health in general, the need to improve the quality of care, attracting people to health management, the urgent need to adapt the health system to market conditions.
